Today, Meta is introducing Muse, a secure, private personal AI agent that proactively helps with people’s goals and suggests ideas. Because personal agents need a new kind of secure computer, Muse runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated, virtual machine (VM) that houses both the agent and a person’s data. Muse is designed around the way people already communicate, so talking to it works just like messaging another person, in the Muse app or directly in WhatsApp. It’s simple to use. People just tell Muse what needs to get done, and it takes action, powered by Muse Spark, Meta’s most capable model to date, built for real-world agentic work like this.

Muse Secure VM includes privacy, safety, and security protections engineered into it that no other agent provides: Muse runs on its own dedicated computer in the cloud, contained so no one else’s agent can reach it, and the data and credentials for any connected services are securely stored there.

Meta said Muse will roll out in the United States on iOS, Android, and muse.ai, with a future version for AI glasses. It is free for most tasks, with paid subscriptions for more extensive use.

When it comes time to pay, Muse can checkout with Link built by Stripe, and it is the first AI agent covered by Link’s purchase protections: free coverage for damaged or lost items, price drops, no-fee returns, and a return guarantee on eligible purchases. Link’s wallet for agents generates a one-time-use card so your real card details stay hidden, and Shop Pay is coming soon along with 1Password support.

Earlier this month Meta introduced Muse, a personal AI agent available in the US and Canada that completes tasks on your behalf, and the company says it is expanding it with new skills and connectors inside Muse to help people run their businesses. Muse can connect your Instagram professional account analytics, Facebook Pages, and Meta ad accounts in a few clicks, and it already understands what you sell and what customers keep asking you about. Canva co-founder and CPO, Cameron Adams, said Muse is an exciting leap towards agents that genuinely help us work, create and make our lives easier, and that Canva integration brings templates and tools into conversations. Tom Mulholland, owner of Mulholland Grocery in Malvern, Iowa, said, “Muse is taking over a few of them.”

Meta described Muse as part of a broader plan called the Meta Enterprise Platform, aimed at turning its AI stack into deployable products for businesses and developers. CJ Desai, Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, said, “Over the coming years, AI will redefine how organizations innovate, grow, and serve customers.”
