Google researchers publish workshop report on agent privacy and security
Why this story?
Google’s report is notable because it ties autonomous-agent privacy concerns to a concrete proposal for shared benchmarks, not just general risk talk.

Google researchers on Oct. 5 published a workshop report on privacy and security issues for autonomous AI agents, saying the work grew out of a late-2025 CAPS workshop in New York City that brought together more than 50 academic and industry leaders. The report says agent systems need coordinated defenses at the system, model, user and ecosystem levels.
The report says autonomous agents that handle longer tasks and delegate subtasks can make traditional user oversight less effective, increasing the risk of what it calls confirmation fatigue. It also proposes new safety evaluations for highly autonomous, multi-agent systems, including standardized benchmarks and “Agent Gym” environments for simulating cascading interactions over extended periods.
