Anthropic expands GSA deal for Claude across government buyers
Why this story?
The agreement extends discounted access to Claude across multiple levels of government, including state and local buyers, and adds a new support program.

Anthropic said it expanded its agreement with the General Services Administration to give government buyers a 40% discount on Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government and the Claude API. The company said the discount now applies across product surfaces, including direct purchases and cloud-provider sales in the coming months, and extends to state, local, tribal and territorial governments.
The company said government agencies can buy Claude at the OneGov discount through GSA’s Multiple Award Schedule today. It also said its public sector team will help agencies consider options, and that it is launching a dedicated program to help agencies implement Claude.
Anthropic said about 500 U.S. federal, state and local government organizations now use Claude. It said weekly Claude for Government active users are up about eightfold since February and usage across federal civilian agencies has grown about 20-fold in a year. The company said the agreement is intended to let agencies use Claude without a large upfront commitment.
